Mountains + Movies is ostensibly about the West Virginia Filmmakers Festival, which celebrated its twentieth anniversary in 2019. Told from the perspective of the filmmakers, the film brings to light the challenges they face in a state where worthy stories abound but obstacles to filmmaking are equally plentiful.
The film includes interviews with Academy Award-nominated documentary filmmaker Elaine McMillion Sheldon (Heroin[e], Recovery Boys), Writer/Director/Producer Robert Tinnell (Feast of the Seven Fishes, Back Fork) and many more. Introduction by veteran Hollywood actor and West Virginia native David Selby.
